The History of Fastar!

As you may have noticed, Fastar! is, stylistically, a somewhat bizarre game. There's no singular idiom, no one point of inspiration, no theme that everything is built around -- just a guy with spiky hair, a lot of colorful squares, and the occasional reckless disregard for grammar.

So where did Fastar! come from?
