Developer Diaries 1

December 2 by John for Red Conquest
I've decided to do tiny thought-dumps on Red Conquest development fairly regularly until it's done.

Basically, Red Conquest is my favourite title, of all the titles we've ever done. From a development standpoint, that is.

Sadly, we never really made much money at it. :(

Anyway, after a long hiatus from the project, I've finally returned to it to complete the much-awaited final episodes, 3 and 4! Will it live up to your hype? Probably not. I mean, you're the internet, come on. Nothing lives up to the internet's standards. :p

Many discussed features over the last year will likely not make it in - there are so many good ideas out there, and if I implemented them all, I'd probably have Starcraft 2! But I hear Blizzard already made that. :( I think my only real advantage here is that this game is on the iPhone. Take that, Blizzard!

Post substance:

What Episodes 3 and 4 will bring to the table, that I can promise 100%, is:
-you will get to know and understand the Green faction, and what makes them tick
-expanded campaign, more than twice as many levels as there are now
-concluded original story arc - Episode 4 will not be a cliffhanger

So there you have it, a tidbit of information for today. :) Check back later for more posts, where I will discuss various design aspects!

I'm trying something new here, bear with me... :p

Awww, I really like your games guys... Maybe you should consider marketing, so that a huge number of people can know what you do! Also, try your best to get reviewed by big critics, because I'm sure your amazing games will get top notch scores!

Red Conquest is an amazingly good game, using the iPod touch interfae to the fullest capacity. I have no clue why it didn't make much money. The recent update is a huge improvement in stability. Perhaps the cutscenes are a bit too abstract early on in the game.

Hey! I really love Red Conquest :-)

I bought it on my iPhone, and played SO much! But now I've got an Android phone, and it's not on the market. I now that porting the game would take a lot of time, but could you please get it to the Android market?

Please answer, cheers from Norway!
